Volunteers are the heart of the library and adult volunteers give countless hours to further our library’s mission…connecting people, building community, and transforming lives.

Application

Universal Class

This resource offers over 500 non-college credit Continuing Education courses! All you need is an Ocean County Library card and an email address to sign up.

This year’s Adult Winter Reading theme is Bundle Up with Books.
  
To complete the program, registered customers must read/listen to a minimum of 5 books and log their activity in Beanstack or on paper logs. Every 5 books count as one entry for branch and system prize drawings!

The Winter Reading challenge will run from January 1, 2026 through March 1, 2026. March 1, 2026 will be the last day to register and log books in Beanstack or return paper logs to branches.

Armchair Travel

A form of exploration where attendees experience different places and cultures through a presentation without physically leaving their location.

Walk 4 Memory

A multi-sensory, indoor walking based, FUN and Easy to Follow, movement to music program designed to improve body and brain fitness.

Speed Friending for Seniors

A social activity where participants have short conversations with multiple people in a limited time to connect with others.

Homebound Services

Do you or someone you know have a passion for reading but can't make it to the library? We provide FREE Mobile Library Delivery and Home Borrower Services to bring materials directly to those who are homebound!
